                                                                            Fire and Ice      (1923)

                                                                  Some say the world will end in fire,

                                                                  Some say in ice.

                                                                  From what I've tasted  of desire

                                                                  I hold with those who favor fire.

                                                                  But if it had to perish twice,

                                                                  I think I know enough of hate

                                                                  To say that for destruction ice

                                                                  Is also great 

                                                                  And would suffice.

    " Fire and Ice " 是 Frost 悲觀作品之一例．內容感嘆人世間猛烈的情愫及火爆的慾望固然足夠毀滅世界，但彼此間的仇恨及冷漠疏離與互不關心也能毀滅整個社會．
